Scholary papers describing the methodology

The coin package implements permutation tests that fit into the very general framework of linear statistics described by Strasser and Weber (1999). An introduction to the topic is given by Hothorn, Hornik, van de Wiel, and Zeileis (2006). The design and implementation of the package is discussed in Hothorn, Hornik, van de Wiel, and Zeileis (2008).
